Silent Events has taken its show to every corner of the country and to cities large and small. But a chance to return home to Memphis, TN to produce events is something we always look forward to, especially when the events benefit local organizations. This April, we are lucky to be taking part in two of those types of events.

On Friday, April 26, we will power a silent disco at the Benjamin L Hooks Central Library for Libration, a three-day celebration benefitting the Memphis Public Library and Information Center. Guests are being encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character with prizes being awarded for the best costumes. The event will also feature live music, a dinner buffet, and drinks. Tickets for the Friday night event are $75 in advance and $100 at the door, with a VIP option available.

Then on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, it’s on to Bristerfest. The third-year grassroots celebration of Memphis music and culture is held in Overton Park and benefits GrowMemphis. GrowMemphis was founded in 2007 and exists under a mission of promoting a sustainable local food system in Memphis and Shelby County. While the festival will end at 10:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, the silent disco powered by Silent Events will take place from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM each night. Tickets are $12.50 for a one-day pass and $24 for a two-day pass and are available for purchase on the Bristerfest website.

If you are in the Memphis area the last weekend in April, please come out and join us in supporting two very worthy causes. (And, of course, say hello to us!) Helping give back means a lot to us and it will mean even more to the Memphis and Shelby County communities.

UPDATE: We have added an event at Rhodes College in Memphis on April 28. Rhodes will be hosting a Silent Rave Study Break for its students as the semester comes to a close and final exams crank up. This event will be a part of the University of Silent Disco’s 2013 Spring Tour. We are excited over the addition of this event as it will make our homecoming weekend in Memphis even better.
