Silent Events to power Riverbend Festival Silent Disco

No stranger to the Chattanooga area, Silent Events is proud to announce that it will be a part of the city’s 2014 Riverbend Festival, powering the silent disco on the Bud Light Stage June 6-8. Riverbend annually draws over 500,000 people to the banks of the Tennessee River and is the kick off to summer in the Tennessee Valley. Over 80 artists will perform on five stages during the nine day event.

Each of the three nights’ silent discos will take place from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM and is scheduled to feature a light show and possibly a video screen.

“We know how far behind we are with EDM, so we decided to go right into the community to give them what they want,” Riverbend assistant talent and production coordinator Jeff Styles said in a recent interview with the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

The beats at the festival’s silent disco will be provided by six local DJs. The six performers will be chosen by fan vote at two tryouts at JJ’s Bohemia in Chattanooga in May. Local DJs interested in vying for one of the six sports may apply for consideration at www.423br.com

“It should go really smoothly,” David Ruiz told the Times Free Press. “For this first year, we only want local DJs and, to be eligible, they have to fill out a 423PK profile, which is free.”

General admission festival tickets are $35 while single-day wristbands will be available for $26. Please visit the Riverbend website for all ticketing details.

As always, stay tuned to the Silent Events Facebook and Twitter pages for information in the coming weeks. Also be sure to follow Riverbend Festival on its Facebook page.
